Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park “Othello” Extended Auditions – Vallejo, CA
Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park presents Othello by William Shakespeare directed by Tamiyka White on July 30 and 31, 2011 at 1pm in Hanns Park Amphitheater on Skyline Road and Redwood Parkway in Vallejo, CA.
Auditions will be extended Tuesday evening, May 10 6:00-10:00pm at the Vallejo Community Center located at 225 Amador in Vallejo, CA. Go to http://www.gvrd.org/ccvallejocommunity.html for directions and Google to cross reference if needed.
We are seeking both union and non-union actors for the following roles:
- Othello
- Desdemona
- Lodovico
- Cassio
- Bianca – Preferably an African American actress who also can move, but other ethnicities are welcomed.
Please prepare one Shakespearean monologue of your choice no longer than 2 minutes in length. Please bring headshot and resume.

Compensation: $50 guaranteed stipend + PASSING THE HAT at each performance
Rehearsals begin June 20th and will run Monday-Friday 6-10pm. Spotted rehearsals will take place weeks 2, 3 and 4 of the process. Full company’s called last 2 weeks prior to opening.
