The Los Angeles Feature Film Academy is casting a Festival of One Act Plays

Auditions take place Friday, March 26th from 10:30 am-3:00pm.
The Los Angeles Feature Film Academy is casting a Festival of One Act Plays directed by six very talented young directors: Monika Wesley, Brandon Rose, Nicole Crowther, Casey Strong, Rob Hamilton, and A.J. Hordijk. William Wesley is the Exec. Producer.

The Festival includes:

Après Opera -An opera bouffe Laurel arranges to meet her ex lover Peter at Après Opera and introduces her fiancé Duncan. Seeking—Actors: Peter: Mid-twenties, rumpled, unshaven, Lead. Laurel: twenties, waitress from hell, Supporting Role. Karen: Mid-twenties, dressed for success, Lead. Duncan: Mid-twenties, he tries very hard, Lead.

Carnality – Carnality is a look at the lives of a recently broken-up couple and the struggles with moving on. Seeking—Actors: Ben – late 20’s / early 30’s – any ethnicity, when clean-shaven quiet, sensitive, good looking guy. Michelle – late 20’s / early 30’s – any ethnicity, girl next door type, focused, stern.

Funeral Parlor – At the wake of Susan’s late-husband, she meets an odd, refreshing stranger, Marcus. Seeking—Actors: Susan Lead 25+ Beautiful, sullen and soft-spoken. Marcus- Lead 25+ Optimistic and high-spirited.

Mere Mortals – 3 male construction workers building a city skyscraper, on lunch break discussing the daily news to find out Charlie is an old time fame-baby grown up in disguise. Seeking- Actors: Charlie: early 50s, male, construction worker. Average male build. Some gray hair to signify age. Educated Frank: Mid 30s. Male. Middle aged. Construction worker Joe: Mid 30s clown of the group. Sarcastic. Witty but educated.

One For The Road – The story revolves around a captured family who are individually interrogated by a vicious, darkly humorous ranking officer of an unknown state. Seeking- Actors: Nicolas-40s, a high-ranking interrogator with a quick wit, Lead; Victor- 30s, a tortured father being interrogated, Lead; Gila-30s, beautiful but tortured young mother, supporting role; Nicky-7, the innocent young son of Victor and Gila, supporting role.

Seeing the Light – Two men, Ned and Marshall, are sitting in a control room. Suddenly an emergency light begins to shine. What should they do? Is it real or is it a false alarm? Third man, Casey, enters. What will the three of them do? Seeking- Actors: Ned- Male, energetic and idealistic, early 40s. Marshall- a male, quiet, cynical, indifferent, mid to late 40s. Casey- a male, supporting role, indifferent, mid to late 40s.

Auditions take place Friday, March 26th from 10:30 am-3:00pm at LA Center Studios 451 S. Beaudry Blvd Downtown LA, CA.

The Festival will take place on May 28th.

THERE IS NO PAY AS THIS IS A STUDENT PRODUCTION AND WILL BE REHEARSED IN A CLASS ENVIRONMENT.

Actors are asked to prepare a one-minute comedic and a one minute dramatic monologue.
