GDP Productions is casting for its Philadelphia Fringe production of Ubu Roi, staged at Church Street Studios in the heart of Old City. Directed by James Kiesel.

All roles open:
PA UBU – A lumbering, reckless, childish buffoon slash Temporary King of Poland. His ruthlessness, greed, and gut are legendary.
MA UBU – A wretched, haggard, conniving belch of a woman, Ma Ubu believes out of necessity that beauty comes from within.
CAPTAIN SEXCREMENT – An noble, honor-driven man who is concerned with little more than keeping his family name immaculately clean.
BUGGERLAS – He’s the Chosen One of his family, in so far as he’s pretty much the only one who (narrowly) avoids being wrenched in twain.
LADISLAS and BOLESLAS – Ever wanted to play a character who is wrenched in twain?
KING WENCESLAS and ROSAMUND – The revered, honorable, and (also) temporary royalty of Poland.
GYRON – The Ubu’s loyal meat shield
PUPPETEERS – Several puppeteers are needed to play peasants, russians, cannonballs, and maybe a bear.
Those with experience (or interest) in mask, puppetry, clown, and stage combat are especially encouraged to apply.
Auditions will occur by appointment only on May 17th and May 19th, 7pm – 10pm. Please prepare a contemporary or classical comedic monologue, and come prepared to move.
