Auditioning actors/actresses for production of an original play by Ken Youmans about the life of John McKee, the wealthiest black man in the U.S. circa 1900. Drama focuses on events leading to his attempt to create a city, inland from Atlantic City. Modest pay.

Auditions to take place in South Philadelphia, March 23 & 24 and at Cygnus Creative Arts Centre, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Rehearsals will take place April 12–26 in South Philadelphia. Tech rehearsals and performances will take place April 27–May 11 at Cygnus in Egg Harbor Twp. Actors are responsible for their own transportation.

Roles:

John McKee, black, 50 or older, thin to medium build, capable of convincingly playing 90;

Henry, his handyman, black, 20-30;

Davis, McKee’s right hand man, black, 40 or older, heavyset;

Lawrence, an investment banker, white, 25-50;

Reverend Bragg, black, over 30;

Abby, McKee’s daughter, 30-45.
