Auditioning actors for lead roles for an original play entitled “Set Free”
Don’t Even Tripp Production presents to you an original play entitled “Set Free”.
The play is telling the story of a young man (Malachi) who is dealing with the unsolved murder of his younger sister. And even though he claims to be at peace and has received ’spiritual healing’, in reality he has not. Instead he is masking his pain with an addiction to painkillers and hiding his troubles through other people. The play would be categorized as a drama, with a great deal of comic relief. It will bring to the audience’s attention; issues of dealing with forgiveness, confronting past problems, learning to let go and move on; most importantly, it would be addressing the issue of how some people like to talk in their faith but hardly ever walk in it.
The play is set to premier at The Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, CA April 23rd/24th!
We are currently looking for a total of 8 dedicated energetic actors to take on these intriguing characters!!
LEAD ROLES…
MALACHI-A young dedicated passionate man who looks between the ages of 22-26
RONNIE- A young woman from New Orleans with a sassy attitude who looks between the ages of 16-19
FOUR SUPPORTING ROLES…
SOLE- A young studious hard working woman who looks between the ages of 22-26.
NIKO- A young fun energetic man who looks between the ages of 22-26(He is the comic relief for the play)
BUTTAH-A masculine female pimp who looks between the ages of 22-26
JACOB-A young boy with a hard attitude who looks between the age of 16-19.
ENSEMBLE …

We plan on holding auditions next week! The dates are as followed:
Thursday Feb. 11 2010 6pm to 9pm
Friday Feb. 122010 6pm to 9pm
Saturday Feb. 13 2010 1pm to 5PM
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, then shoot us an email letting us know which role you think you would like to go for and which day and time you would be available to come in and audition.
We will then give you a call to confirm and we’ll give you the directions to the location for the casting. From there we’ll send you an email with a character breakdown introducing you to the character.
At the audition we’ll pick an actual scene for you to read (that we will send to you ahead of time) and you also have the option of reciting a one-three minute monologue of your choice.
This is a non-paid gig. However, we will provide a professional DVD copy of the play to place on your reel and all rehearsals will be catered with food!
