Actors needed for stage production of “Marlowe” (London, UK)
The play is based on the last few days of Elizabethian Playwright Christopher Marlowe’s life. It is a play within a play where an acting troupe explores the political, personal, and artistic aspects of his life.
The style of the show lends itself to ‘gender and color blind casting’ Ie, the original workshop production had a female playing the role of Christopher Marlowe and a black actor portraying William Shakespeare. The production’s first fully realized amature performance had a female actor protraying Shakespeare and an mature female actor playing the part of Lord Bourley-William Cecil.
The cast can be as small as 8 or as many as 30. The ‘acting troupe’ assumes various characters throughout the play.
