Synopsis:
In a brutal, post-apocalyptic world, Li, a fiercely independent man is
placed with a ragtag community of survivors with the concealed goal
of determining who among them is “the asset.” When an excursion from
camp ends with Li making the pragmatic decision to kill a wounded
survivor, the camp must decide if they can trust him, or if his intentions
are more insidious. “The Source” is a character-centered allegory of
survival, trust, and the will to remain human in savage conditions.
“The Source” will be produced as an interactive, serial narrative for the web.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

LI, 55 (White, Hispanic, Asian) Sturdy, solid and surprisingly agile,
Li is hardened by age, but not slowed by it. He is virile, reserved,
quietly charismatic and dangerous. A coiled spring.

LILY, Late 30’s (White) Athletic and sturdy, Lily is a font of energy.
An agent of change, Lily focuses on projects and gets them done.
Perhaps to the chagrin of her husband. She’s also an adept social
and emotional person, sensitive to the psyches around her.
A locomotive; a lioness.

RICK, 40 (White, Lily’s husband) Rick’s past life was ruled by the
mind and the market. He’s physically unremarkable and is slowed
by a weak back. He leads with his intellect. A thinker, a tactician.

NOAH, 18 (Black, Hispanic) Athletic, tall and lean but with the
awkwardness of an adolescent. At times daring, brash and
gregarious; at times scared, childish and naïve. Noah is caught
between childhood and adulthood in body and spirit.

FLASH, 14 (any race) The wind could blow him over. Fragile
and scared; young and seeking the approval and nurturing of
the older members of the camp. A baby sea turtle heading
for the water.

BATTERY, 16 (any race) Boisterous, irreverent, belligerent,
funny, Battery lets no event transpire without commentary,
and comical derision. He’s a charming kid, with a nurturing,
warm heart. He kids because he loves (though he might not
admit it). A mischievous puppy.
