Casting Male Actors for “Arkadelphia” Short Film – Athens, GA
Casting / Audition Details:
We are looking for a number of male actors to fill some crucial roles in the upcoming short film, “Arkadelphia.” If you’re interested, please submit a headshot and previous acting experience. This is an Unpaid, Non-Union production, but we will provide two full meals for a single day’s worth of shooting. The filming will most likely take place on Saturday, November 19th at the historic Stiles Properties in the Five Points area of Athens, GA. “Arkadelphia” – Synopsis:
In a decrepit Arkansas apartment, two bodies lie motionless on the ground as a pair of local thugs move through the house. As the two look around, a number of voicemails play out through the nearby answering machine. First, a local drug addict’s message, then a St. Louis escort, a small-time handyman, a landlord, an electrician, then finally, a hitman in pursuit of “Jay,” the apparent owner of the apartment. Through these voicemails we learn both the identity of Jay and the details behind the bizarre double homicide, a charred painting, and the distinct, red telephone.
As the first ever short film to be told entirely by way of answering machine, and all captured in one fluid, continuous take, “Arkadelphia” represents a bold step in indie filmmaking.
Roles:
-Thug #1 = mid- to late-20′s, very raw look. Ex. think Jesse from the show Breaking Bad.
-Thug #2 = slightly older, possibly late 20′s to early 30′s.
-Jay = also in late 20′s, slightly thin, but domineering.
-Sean = somewhere between college-aged and 30′s, trailer trash.
-Dead Body (x2) – two middle-aged men, one large and bearded.
