Seeking actors for short independent film (Philadelphia, PA)
SimplyRG Productions is looking for talented actresses and actors to start in a short independent film. Shooting begins in May on location in Center City Philadelphia and additional locations. These are non-paying roles, but we will provide food, transportation costs, and a final copy of the short.

We are auditioning for the following roles:
Lead: AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE Brown skin, average height (5′7″ to 5′9″), slender build, dancer’s body. Melanie Daniels is a 28 year old professional working in Center City. She is obsessed with her career. She seems to be social and outgoing but she wears a mask. She is haunted by the verbal, mental, and sometimes physical abuse that she suffered at the hands of her father. Her self-esteem is very low. She believes that she is not good enough to get the things she really wants out of life. Her dream is to become a dancer but she is too afraid to pursue it.
AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE (girlfriend) Medium brown skin, average height, average/medium build. The girlfriend is very social. She enjoys being around people. She is funny, intelligent, and successful. She is a member of a traveling karaoke team who participates in tournaments around the city. She has a magnetic personality. She is constantly trying to draw Melanie out.
GUY FROM THE OFFICE African American male medium brown skin, athletic build, tall, handsome He is attracted to Melanie. He has been watching her from afar. He is a professional man, always well dressed. He has worked his way up in life (from North Philly). He’s looking for a good woman. He is charming and smooth but not offensive. He understands the ways of women because he has sisters. He loves a woman’s mind. He is a gentleman. He loves to have fun. He’s not your typical Philly guy.
KID Boy 9-12; hyper, aloof, bright smile, raised in the city, navigates through the city well.
