‘Grant Street Shaving Co.’ is a 15-minute short film about an elderly Indian widower and the journey he takes through New York to replace an antique razor given to him by his now-deceased wife on their first anniversary trip to the city. Along the way he relives his memories of their trip and experiences a revelation about his strained relationship with his daughter. The budget is 3K and tentative shooting dates are November 12, 22, 23, and 24.

About the director:

Payal Sethi has over eight years’ experience working in the film industry, including five years as the assistant to Mira Nair (Salaam Bombay, Monsoon Wedding, The Namesake). Payal has also worked for the Hamptons Int’l Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, and the IFP. Currently she serves as the founder and managing director of FilmKaravan, a South Asian independent film distribution network.
