Casting call for minor parts in a 25 minute short film, tentatively titled “Artaud et son petit Voyage”. The film is about French poet and writer Antonin Artaud, who, in 1937, became convinced that the world was going to end and that he should wait out the Apocalypse in Ireland.

The following parts are being cast:

Padraig, a young man growing bored of his life on his father’s farm (20s-30s)

Mr Riley, a pensioner living a quiet life in rural Galway, Ireland (male, 40s-50s)

Mrs Riley, his wife (female, 40s-50s) (this role has some dialogue in Irish Gaelic, so experience with foreign languages is preferred)

John O’Rourke, owner of a hotel in Dublin (male, 30s-60s)

2 policemen (males, 20s-40s)

All roles will require an Irish accent. Please prepare a 1-3 minute monologue showcasing your abilities. Sides will be emailed to those who schedule.

Filming will occur within a professional studio, in a multi-camera setup, with full set and lighting on the UT campus with talented UT films students as crew. Also, under the supervision of a professor with years of experience in the film industry.

This new show will follow the lives of a group of friends who attend the very same high school their parents attended but on the flip side, it will also follow the lives of their parents who have not only remained friends with their high school chums but whose teenage children have also become friends.

The younger/new generation of high schoolers are forming their own social networks and befriending each other, relying on one other and even dating each other all over again in the very towns/cities that their parents grew up in…and painted red in their day. This next generation is essentially picking up where their parents left off, and dealing with the same issues. These families have been known for generations in their hometowns.

GENERATIONS allows viewers to experience teenage angst, and memorable life changing high school experiences that remain timeless, in a new and exciting way. The backdrop remains the same as the new generation walks in the footprints of their moms and dads, at the same schools their parents attended. The world has transformed greatly for the second generation of high school friends. Cell phones, the internet, twitter and Facebook have become part of everyday life but we’ll learn that some things about being a teenager never change…

Extras/Actors needed Sept 30 and Oct 1

We are filming a documentary that looks at people who have survived traumatic events. Along with interviews and archival photographs, we will be re-enacting a small portion of the events. The location is on private residential land in Leander, Texas (25 minutes north of Austin). The re-enactment has no dialogue.

We are looking for the following people:

1. Iraqi Teenager: young looking 20 year old, Middle-Eastern or Mediterranean looking: The Iraqi teenager stabs a soldier and then is apprehended. (a few hours)
2. Soldier: African-America, 20 years old: The soldier is in a vehicle when they are suddenly attacked. He is wounded (make-up) and then taken to the hospital (2 days, the second day for a few hours)
3. Soldier: Caucasian Male, 30s, bigger man: The soldier is stabbed by an Iraqi teenager. He is then taken to the hospital (2 days, the second day for a few hours)
4. Surgeon: Asian-America, 30s: The surgeon attends to the soldier at the hospital
5. Soldier: Male, 20’s: The soldier helps the other soldier who has been stabbed by tending to his wounds. (1 day)
6. Soldier: Male, 20’s: Another soldier tends to the soldier who was wounded in the vehicle. (1 day)

There will be snacks and beverages available.
