Casting Call for Feature Film “Application of Rule”
City: Seattle
Pay: Varies
When: Summer 2008
Application of Rule is a low budget feature film to be shot in High Def in
Seattle this summer. It follows Max, a seemingly low-life thug whose own
deep values guide his life in surprising ways. Max and his friends own the
neighborhood and maintain control with brutality, but it is always tempered
by rules that Max holds above all else. A savage tale of justice, morality
and the complexities of navigating through a torn and confused world.
All roles are paid. Pay varies depending on the role and your experience.
You MUST have film experience to participate in this project. Getting your
feet wet and learning this business is awesome, and there are many posts
here in seattle that would be perfect, just not this one.
Casting the following roles:
Max: The lead. He’s in his late 20’s, early 30’s. Any ethnicity.
Jeremy: Max’s best friend. Late 20’s, early 30’s. Any ethnicity. He doesn’t
have quite the same restraint as Max and doesn’t necessarily understand his
rules, but he listens to Max. Usually.
Tom: Not a smart guy. He’s basically a brute, a basher, but he plays an
important role and is central to the final scene. 30’s. Any ethnicity.
Flip: Max’s younger brother. Looks at Max like he walks on water. Max
doesn’t let his brother roll with him and his friends because he wants Flip
to have a different life. Events occur that force Flip into the group, and
Max struggles to balance his desire to protect his brother and his need to
get things done. Flip is eager, naive, 18-22, same ethnicity as Max.
Maya: Jeremy’s sister. She hates what her brother and his friends do, but
hates more the fact that she completely understands why. Maya is involved in
a rape (not shown, just referred to) that sets off a chain of events that
flips everything upside down for Max and the gang. Maya is mid to late 20’s,
same ethnicity as Jeremy (which could be any).
Sara: Max’s love interest. Not exactly a girlfriend, more like a friend from
childhood who just happens to be gorgeous, single, and always available when
Max needs her. She’s hung up on Max, and although Max isn’t the settling
down type, Sara knows he would do anything for her that she asked. But how
long can that really be enough for her? Mid to late 20’s. Any ethnicity.
Various other speaking roles, all of them paid. If you would like to
audition, or for more information, please email John Bryant at
figlum@gmail.com. Include the role you are interested in, your headshot and
resume.
