Young Playwrights’ Theater seeks African American Actors – Washington, DC

Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT) seeks two African American actresses (ranging from late 30’s – 60’s) and four African American actors (two ranging from late 20’s – 40’s and two in range 50’s-60’s) for rehearsal, premier and two-week weekday tour of readings of a new play about historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Ward 7, Washington, DC. The play was generated with YPT by community members, both young and old, throughout Ward 7, as they explored the history of Woodlawn and the approximately 30,000 famous and anonymous people buried there. Rehearsal on Monday, February 7, from 10am to 5pm, at YPT, with performance at GALA Theatre at 7pm that evening, plus toured readings in public schools approximately 9am to 2pm, February 8 through Febraury 18 (exact times TBD).
