It’s the moment Green Meadow High students have been waiting their entire high school careers for – prom night! But before students can learn who has won the coveted Prom King & Queen crown, the elegant night takes an unexpected and bloody turn. With tensions running high, it is up to Mr. Franklin, a timid History teacher to muster the courage to catch a killer.

We are willing to consider male and females for some characters. We will make the necessary adjustments to the script dependent on casting. *

A 35 -year old, loud, alpha-male character. Presently, he works in the gym, where he constantly hits on women telling them stories of his high school “glory days”. He is out of shape and divorced, which is a result of his constant drinking. His son, who he only sees on the weekends, refuses to follow in his father’s football footsteps and instead studies modern dance.
MOTIVE: When Principal Samson cuts the Alumni Program Ronnie is devastated. High school is the only place where he has ever felt like a winner. He lives for attending the high school events.

A 39 year old, seductive, mother and three time divorcee. She is lonely and desperate to get remarried. She gravitates to men and flirts unabashedly. She is President of the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and chaperones all the school events. However, her daughter graduated 3 years ago. Ava enjoys being involved in the high school gossip because it adds drama and excitement to her life. Not a particularly responsible chaperone, she uses school events as hunting grounds for her next husband.
MOTIVE: She has her sights set on the principal, Mr. Samson. However, Mr. Samson constantly turns her down and has threatened to take away her PTA title. He is cutting the PTA program in his next round of budget cuts.

A 18 year old high school senior, who is completely disillusioned with high school and its social cliques. A proud “militant”, she dresses in all black and makes it her mission to challenge everything that she feels is oppression. Her cold disposition and tendency to hiss at others makes people fear her, including her teachers. There are rumors that she worships the devil and drinks blood. However, she is extremely intelligent and organizes campaigns to protest all things “high school” such as mascots, field trips, organized sports and the prom.
MOTIVE: The principal was on board with her all of her petitions because he thought that they were in line with his budget cuts. She saw Principal Samson as an ally. However, when Mr. Samson tells her that he is unable to cancel the prom completely, she is furious.

A 17 year old foreign exchange student from ___________________. He is extremely handsome and instantly became the Ladies Man of the school. He is a part of a one- year cultural exchange program. He speaks very broken English and learns most of the language from watching American movies. Lately, he’s gotten in trouble for being caught for “inappropriate fraternization” with the entire cheerleading team and the brass section of the school band.
MOTIVE: Principal Samson has informed him that he is canceling the Foreign Exchange Student program, due to it being a “homeland security risk”.

A 18 year old high school senior, who is the most popular girl in the school. She is known as “Ms. High School” because she is President of the Student Body, Valedictorian, Prom Queen and pretty much loved by everyone…except for Draven. She is very beautiful, annoyingly positive and tries hard to be everyone’s friend…as long as you agree with everything she says.
MOTIVE: She is infuriated with Principal Samson’s newly imposed budget cuts. She feels that he is trying to ruin her high school experience. She has worked extremely hard for the past four years to have a perfect senior year and is determined not to let anything or anyone ruin that.

A 34 year old, overworked, underpaid US History Teacher and Mock Trial Team Coach. He is passionate about History and tries to get his students to care by using creative techniques, such as costumes and songs. Despite his commitment, he is seen as a joke by his students. He has a difficult time asserting authority in his classroom and with his colleagues. He is often run over by others because he is afraid to speak up for himself. He had dreams of being a detective, but he couldn’t pass the test to get into the Police Academy – failing 17 times.
MOTIVE: Principal Samson informs him that he is cutting the Mock Trial Team – which is extremely important to Arthur. When Principal Samson is murdered, Arthur sees this as his chance to investigate a real case. He wants to prove himself and earn some respect.

An overly strict, militant, relentless high school principal obsessed with completing his “mission” to “claim back the school”. He is ex-military and applies his regimented training to all areas of his life. He joined the Marines when he was 18 years old, but was released just after three years due to uncertainty about his mental state. He has no wife or children because he prefers to go through life with the “bare essentials”. His views on education are simple, but extremely inappropriate: “complete the mission or die”. He believes school is a place where soldiers receive training for life. He says there is no room for “bows and ribbons” such as clubs, proms or field trips. He is feared and despised by the students and the teachers. As a result, he is unexpectedly murdered the night of the prom.

Rehearsals will run twice a week throughout March and early April. Exact rehearsal locations are TBC.
