Actors needed for short student film (Washington, D.C.)
Actors needed for a short student film chronicling the journey of two high school students as they attempt to discover their identity in unique and thematically opposing ways.
Shooting will mostly occur during the third and fourth weekends of July. Only the actor playing Zack needs to be available for the entirety of those weekends. All shooting will be done around Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, MD.
Characters:
Zack – High school senior. Seeks to set himself apart from the crowd. Confident, yet unsure of how to achieve his goals.
Gavin – High school senior. Zack’s best friend. Throughout film, hides homosexuality and a secret desire for Zack. Longs to be a typical, straight teenager.
Margot – Early 20s. Zack’s role model. Mysterious and unpredictable.
Lexy – Late 20s. A cheap, but dedicated prostitute. In the film, stumbles into a bizarre situation and doggedly tries to finish her job.
Milton – 40s to 50s. Zack’s father. Harshly demands the best from his son.
Mother – 40s to 50s. Zack’s mother. Struggles to support Zack in the wake of Milton’s callousness.
All roles are unpaid, but food and beverages will be provided during shooting. Each actor will receive a DVD of the film upon completion. All types are highly encouraged to submit.
