Theatre audio/visual technicians needed - Seattle, WA

Greg Thompson Productions is looking for a talented audio/visual technicians to run sound and lights for the Tillicum Village production, Dance on the Wind. This is a beautifully produced show, designed for tourists, which tells the legend of the Native American people of this area and features Native American dances performed by the Native people. The tours depart from Pier 55 on the Seattle waterfront.

Dance on the Wind runs at Blake Island State Park throughout the tourist season. It will be starting to gear up in March with shows becoming much more frequent through the summer and tapering off in the fall.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

You must have skill in running both sound and lights and a knowledge of equipment for maintenance purposes.

You will be asked to maintain the stage area.

You may be asked to make live announcements over the house system.

You must be willing to wear a uniform shirt (provided by Tillicum Village) which is to be worn with your own dark pants.

You must be willing to abide by the Tillicum Village appearance code which includes natural appearing hair color, no visible piercings, and no earrings.

Because the job requires catching a boat to the island each work day, anyone who is interested in being considered must be able to commit to being on time! Tillicum Village provides transportation by boat to Blake Island.

Because the show is designed for tourists and the tech booth will be in the room with patrons, you must be willing to maintain a friendly, helpful and professional attitude at all times.

This position requires the ability to work conscientiously on your own. There will be at least two people hired, however, after the training period, each technician will work independently.

You must be somewhat flexible in your availability. The schedule includes days which have multiple shows and shows are scheduled up to seven days per week during the heavy part of the season. Each tech will work 2-3 days per week.

COMPENSATION:

Show pay:
One or two shows per day - $55.00 per show
Three or more shows per day - $44.00 per show

Training period pay:
One or two shows per day - $22.00 per show
Three or more shows per day - $27.50 per show

The returning lead technician will do the tech training on site.
