Adventures in Mating is a unique interactive theatrical experience in
which the audience has a direct impact on the course of the show
without ever leaving the safety and comfort of their seats. Inspired
by Choose Your Own Adventure novels, the course of this scripted show
is determined by audience choices.

Adventures in Mating follows the story of a blind date between Jeffrey
and Miranda, two quirky characters looking for very different things
in life and love. When this dysfunctional couple can’t make simple
decisions like ordering red or white wine, the waiter intervenes and
asks the audience for their votes. With the audience steering the
plot, the show takes off in wildly different directions each night!

This production is directed by Joy Fairfield. Rehearsals begin early June. The show opens July 21 and run Fridays and Saturdays
through August 25.

ROLES:

WAITER: Male, any age, any race. He is in charge of the restaurant
and the show! This role demands creative physical comedy abilities,
impeccable timing, great improv skills and comfort interacting with
the audience and setting the pace of the show.

JEFFREY: Male, 20s-40s, any race. A self-described “bad boy” wearing
snoopy boxers, he is unshakably determined to seduce Miranda.
This role requires creativity, flexibility, strong improv skills, and
the ability to learn and retain a great deal of text.

MIRANDA: Female, 30 years old tomorrow, any race. She is precise,
surprisingly charming despite her 27 cats, and unshakably bent on
marriage. This role requires creativity, flexibility, strong improv
skills, and the ability to learn and retain a great deal of text.

Theater Schmeater is an all-volunteer, non-Equity, non-profit theater company. All production participants receive travel reimbursement up to $50 per production.
