Wing-It Productions seeks improvisers (and actors with improv experience) to audition for our original long-form improvised play, Unspeakable Horrors. Also – there will be roles available for actors with physical theatre experience, and improvisational experience will not be necessary for these roles.
Must be 18 or older to audition.
Auditions will be Sunday, July 11, 1:00-3:00pm (location TBA) and will involve improv games and scenes. Please plan on staying for the whole 2 hours to do improv scenes. There will be no callbacks.
About the Show
Unspeakable Horrors is an improvised play inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos. Each night, the story will focus on a single character who discovers the truth behind Secrets Man Was Not Meant To Know and spirals into madness and/or death as he is plagued by a host of, well… unspeakable horrors. The show will be comedic, but contain sections of non-comedic material. Familiarity with the works of H.P. Lovecraft and the surrounding Cthulhu Mythos will be required of the cast by the time of performance, but is not necessary for the audition.
Please bring a headshot and resume, and plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork prior to the audition.
Rehearsals are Tuesday nights (beginning July 20), and some Sunday rehearsals may be added as needed.
Performances are Thursdays and Fridays (no Saturday performances) at 8:00pm on September 30, October 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 (there are no performances the final weekend in October) and November 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19.
Performances (and most rehearsals) take place at the Wing-It Productions: 5510 University Way NE, Seattle (the home of Jet City Improv).
This show pays a stipend of $100.
Unspeakable Horrors is created and directed by Ian Schempp (director of Shades of Grey and This Improvised Life).
