Auditions for an independent feature

Pale Cherry Productions is continuing to cast for A/V, an independent
feature that will be shot in Seattle. A/V will begin shooting in late March
2008 and will be shot on HDV. Though many more roles will be cast shortly,
currently we are only casting the 2 supporting female parts (Deborah &
Rachel) and 2 supporting male parts (Michael & Clive).

A/V is the story of Duane, a successful salesman who longs to be a writer
but never quite finds the time. After a tragic and eye-opening experience,
Duane abandons his current career path and takes a less glamorous (and less
demanding) position as a hotel Audio/Visual guy. While his new job gives
him time for creative dawdling, his colorful coworkers are not exactly
inspiring. Is this the type of place to nurture one’s dreams or one’s
hangover? A/V is a comedy (with a dash of drama) that looks at the
subjectiveness of success and the idea that it is possible to be succeeding
and not know it.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, March 9th, at 160 Roy Street, in Lower
Queen Anne, Seattle. The audition will consist of cold readings from the
script. Please email udune@hotmail.com for an
audition time slot. Those who wish to read for Michael or Clive will be
scheduled for a slot between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those who wish to read for
Deborah or Rachel will be scheduled for a slot between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Please bring a headshot (or recent photo) & resume to the audition. All
roles in A/V will be unpaid. We will provide meals and a copy of the
finished film.

Deborah: Late 20’s - mid 30’s. Intelligent, tolerant, a bit quiet but very
confident and secure. She is pretty but not out of place working in a
hospitality environment. Deborah knows what she wants to do with her life
and is okay with doing the grunt work necessary to take her there. This
role will require approximately 5 shooting days.

Rachel: Late 30’s. Middle-class soccer mom who is supportive of her
husband’s creative endeavors. Consequently, she completely runs the
household and is constantly on the go. But she shoulders her
responsibilities with a smile because she believes in her husband’s talent.
This role will require approximately 2 shooting days.

Michael: Late 30’s - mid 40’s. Rachel’s husband is a moderately successful
writer who isn’t quite successful enough to quit his day job. He feels like
he isn’t meeting his own standards in any aspect of his life. He doesn’t
look particularly athletic (anymore). He is not disheveled, but isn’t
overly concerned with his appearance. Michael is at the end of his rope.
This role will require approximately 3 shooting days.

Clive: Mid 40’s - mid 50’s. Hotel Audio/Visual Manager. He has a pseudo
European accent despite his southern upbringing. He is slightly
pretentious, though not in a condescending manner. He takes pride in what
he does and holds himself and his employees to a higher standard. Clive is
serious and has presence, but his affectations can obscure his authenticity.
This role will require approximately 7 shooting days.
