Queer, Romantic, Short Narrative Film (5-8min)
Narrative Summary:
An Egyptian young woman lives in San Francisco with a queer roommate. She’s often facing challenges of being dual identity person (Egyptian-Immigrant, Bi-sexual, etc.).
Seeking the following Roles:
Leila – Lead Character
• Female
• Mid-Late 20s
• Arab/Persian/Middle Eastern, Hispanic, White (brunette, dark featured)
• Femme/Feminine
• Medium-Long Hair
• Must be OK with same-sex kissing scene
Leila is a mid-20s Egyptian woman living in San Francisco with a gay Hispanic woman roommate. She receives an Egyptian wedding invitation and starts struggling with the idea of cultural expectations. She finds comfort and strength in her roommate, Naira, who later reveals her love to Leila.
Naira – Lead Character
• Female
• Mid-Late 20s
• Hispanic, White (brunette, dark featured)
• Tomboy/Sporty
• Must be OK with same-sex kissing scene
Naira is Leila’s best friend and roommate who is gay. She has a very friendly relationship with Leila and later reveals her love interest to her.
Dylan – Supporting Role
• Male
• Mid-Late 20s
• White, tall, slender
• Hipster-Yuppie
Dylan is Leila’s date. He’s nice and friendly, but struggles to understand and connect with Leila’s cultural struggles.
