Casting notice for “New Hope Landing” short film.
This short film is for the SACRAMENTO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL
Must be available for shooting dates July, 27th, 28th, & 29th.
Auditions will be held at Arden Arcade branch Library,
2443 Marconi, near Fulton (Sacramento, CA)
Sunday, July 19th from 3pm – 7pm. Call Backs TBD, if necessary.
For the SACRAMENTO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL, this short film shows the slow demise of the psyche of the lead character as he decides to kill his family with ax. Must be experienced and confident playing intimate character roles. Will make exceptions for unique talent. We are experienced Indi filmmakers from Los Angeles and wish to showcase this work to the professional industry. Only serious actors please. There is no pay, but food, copy, and a good time will be provided.
Roles are:
Michael (35-40) — Lead role. Michael, recently homeless and jobless, finds himself with no place to go but back to his mother’s home where he loses his sanity. This is a complicated role that shows the slow demise of the human psyche. Must have experience and training as an actor. In the vein of The Shining, Mr. Brooks, and Raising Cain.
Mother (55-60) — Second lead. The bitter mother of the protagonist, Mother is the catalyst to Michael’s insanity. Must play anger and bitterness well and natural.
Infomercial Pitchman (40-45) — Like the “SHAM WOW” infomercial pitchman on television, this pitchman is fast talking, and pushy. Must play the seller. Experience as an actual pitchman or salesman, a plus.
James (35-40) — The best friend of Michael, James is an ex Iraqi soldier who has a slight limp. He’s a figment of Michael’s imagination and is a high-energy, old friend of Michael’s. He seems to be on his side, but his loyalty is questionable.
