Casting call for independent feature film “THE MOUNTAIN CRUMBLES”

We will be having auditions for our upcoming independent feature film “THE MOUNTAIN CRUMBLES” on Saturday, June 28th and Sunday, June 29th from 10am to 4pm. The film is a minimalist picture, centered around the relationship of two brothers - Gerry and Leon. After having not seen much of each other since childhood, Gerry and Leon are back in the town they grew up in, and decide to take the first step toward reconnecting over a weekend camping trip. Just as they begin to navigate their way out of the initial awkwardness of their new bond, the introduction of a mysterious young female backpacker begins to expose the more complicated urges of adulthood inside them.

Much of the film’s creation will be based around structured improvisation, with an atmosphere of heavy collaboration between everyone involved promoted. Input and ideas from actors about scenes and the direction of the story will not only be welcomed, but completely essential to the creation of the film.

All levels of experience are encouraged to apply; no acting experience is required. We are looking for both males and females in their early to mid twenties.

THIS IS A PASSION PROJECT. It is being shot on budget just large enough to cover the essential practicalities of it’s creation, so it is non-paying, but of course all costs of transportation and meals are covered.

The specifics of the shooting location is developing, but it most likely will require short road trips to more mountain/forest-like areas just outside the city.

To be shot on digital, over the course of a couple weekends in July and August. I am completely willing to work around your schedule, and plan the shoots ahead of time so that it is convenient for all involved.

At the audition you will be asked to tell us a story no longer than 5 minutes long. Please do not prepare a scene or monologue.
