PROJECT: THE IRISH CURSE
CASTING CALL CATEGORY: THEATER AUDITIONS
LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY
1st rehearsal: March 1, 2010. Opens March 28, 2010 at Soho Playhouse (open-ended run).
Off-Broadway Currently $525/week minimum.
SEEKING (ALL ROLES AVAILABLE):
Rick Baldwin: Man, early 20s. Smart, optimistic, fun-loving Staten Island stud who’s studying Sports Medicine at a local NY college. The kind of guy who paints his face green, drinks a lot and hangs with his buds on St. Patrick’s Day.
Joseph Flaherty: Man, 40s. On the short side, stout and balding. Born in Savannah, GA. He’s now an angry, liberal contracts lawyer who lives on the “way Upper West Side.” His wife recently walked out, leaving him with two young daughters.
Stephen Fitzgerald: Man, late 30s. Tall, handsome gay cop from the Bronx. Moody, dark, taciturn smartass. Lives with his father, who’s also a cop. Stephen never ever sees the glass as half full, although he would probably like to.
Kevin Shaunessy: Man, early 50s. Catholic priest, originally from Boston. Principal of a parochial school in Brooklyn Heights which donates rooms to various support groups. Sweet, caring guy with acting aspirations. Actually looks like he could play a priest on TV.
Kieran Riley: Man, late 20s. Nice-looking, middle-class guy from Queens who works at a roofing company. Exuberant, very nervous and very sincere. He’s also really Irish, and someone you’d want to be your best friend.
Note from casting personnel: “The five guys absolutely should look as if they are of Irish heritage, whether they be redheads, blondes or dark Irish.”
