Senior Film “The Cyclist” is in need of three primary actors
Senior Film “The Cyclist” is in need of three primary actors. The story follows the trials and tribulations of a grumpy older gentleman (Philip) who re-discovers his childhood dream of being a professional cyclist and his attempts to get back in shape and prepare for an upcoming race. Along the way he meets an unlikely friend who motivates him to pursue his dream.
3 Non union breakdowns:
Older White Male (Philip) – Preferably 50-60 years old and capable of riding a bicycle. Philip is the main character of the film and needs to be able to portray grumpy and yet lovable. An excellent actor who is willing to work with our student production team is needed. Interested parties that may not fit within the age range are still encouraged to e-mail with a headshot.
Asian/Asian- American Male (Toshi) – Toshi is trying to learn English and stumbles upon Philip who offers him some ‘choice’ English phrases to use. Pleased with the result of the new phrases he asks Philip to continue teaching him in exchange for bicycling lessons. – Preferably 20-26 years old. An accent that may be considered East Asian is desirable or the ability to accurately mimic an accent.
Young White Female (Lisa) – Preferably between 18-24 years old to play Philip’s daughter. Lisa wants her father (Philip) to be more active in life and to get out of the rut he’s been in, however she has little faith that he can accomplish his bicycling dream.
Auditions are being held on Wednesday October 15, 2008 in Room 309 Willard from 6:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m. The Willard building is located on The Pennsylvania State University’s campus (Penn State). If you need directions please don’t hesitate to e-mail thecyclistmovie@gmail.com
