Live Nation is holding an open call for currently and future replacements for its currently running tour of The Backyardigans Live! Tale of the Mighty Knights! Book & lyrics by Adam Peltzman. Music by Evan Lurie. Based on The Backyardigans created by Janice Burgess. Directed by Lou Jacob. Choreographed by Beth Bogush. Music Directed by Charlie Alterman. General Management by Alan Wasser Associates. Casting by Geoff Josselson.

SEEKING: Versatile, energetic male and female actors who sing and dance, 18 and up. Specifically seeking performers of all types and ethnicities, with inviting personalities and great senses of humor to deliver athletic, physical performances. Men should be 5′-5′11″ and Women should be 4′10″-5′7″ in height. The show is a pop-rock fantasy adventure, in which each of the following character plays a major role:

PABLO: male, an energetic, enthusiastic and excitable penguin who plays the King in this adventure. Should be a strong physical comedian.
TYRONE: African-American male, Pablo’s best friend, an easy-going, confident young moose who plays a Knight in this adventure.
UNIQUA: African-American female, a one-of-a-kind character with an adventurous nature and a “let’s go” attitude who plays a Knight in this adventure.
TASHA: female, a strong and smart, but deceptively sweet and girlish hippo with a great pop-rock voice who plays the Flighty Fairy.
AUSTIN: male, a resourceful but shy kangaroo who plays the Grabbing Goblin in this adventure.
ENSEMBLE: two performers (male or female) who will play a variety of different characters, including a friendly dragon, dancing flowers and an ever on-the-move egg.

All positions are paid (salary, per diem, hotel, travel and insurance).

Please prepare 16 bars of an uptempo pop-rock song or contemporary musical theatre song with sheet music in the appropriate key that shows off range and personality, and bring your book. Also bring movement clothes in case you are asked to stay and dance. All auditioning MUST bring a current headshot/resume, stapled together.
