Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound
Broadway / Production Contract $1,558/week minimum
The two plays will be performed in repertory.
Seeking one actor to play Stanley in both plays. Seeking Stanley only at this EPA. All are welcome to attend; however, the casting director states that actors who auditioned at the November 3 EPA for the role of Eugene are on file and need not re-audition if they do not wish to.
Stanley Jerome: Brighton Beach is set in 1937; Stanley is 18. Broadway Bound is set in 1949; Stanley is 28. Seeking actors who can convincingly play both ages. Eugene’s older brother, supporting and caring; Eugene looks up to Stanley and learns from him. Stanley has an adventurous and gregarious personality. Although he is struggling to uphold the ideals he has learned from his parents, he often finds himself in trouble. In Brighton Beach, he is truly remorseful for gambling away the earnings his family needs. He has great love and respect for Eugene and the rest of the family. In Broadway Bound, he is ambitious, a real smooth wheeler and dealer, and still gets himself (and now Eugene) into high-stakes situations.

Please prepare a brief monologue, preferably from any Neil Simon play. Auditioning performers who do not have a Neil Simon monologue may present a brief monologue in the style of Neil Simon.
Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
Equity Principal Auditions were held for the role of Eugene on November 3, 2008. Equity Principal Auditions for roles other than Eugene and Stanley will be held at a later date.
