Seeking actors for the upcoming web series “Mi Amor for My Family”
Robert Solomon (Producer) and Andre Maffioletti (Director) are casting for the upcoming web series “Mi Amor for My Family.”
The Series: An urban drama centered on Michael, a young Hispanic man who, due a disastrous turn of events finds himself struggling in between fighting the state of NYC to keep the custody of his two sisters and the lure of a criminal life that can bring in enough money to save his family, but rob him of his liberty and humanity in the process.
Shooting will take place in NYC from August 10 to August 20. The series will be distributed through the internet to all possible sides of the globe! The production will have its own website (which will include extras such as interviews with cast and crew, “Making of” featurettes and alternative audio track with commentary by cast and crew for each episode), as well as Facebook and MySpace pages. We’re gathering NYC area independent musicians to provide original soundtrack and score and planning an extensive marketing campaign, in and out of the net, which might include especial showings in colleges in the NYC area and festivals.
(THIS IS A NON-UNION PROJECT)
Roles currently available:
ELIZA - (20-25) Hispanic beauty with a strong personality. She’s intelligent, self-assured and brave.
CHRISTINA - (20-25) Michael’s sister. Hispanic, young and reckless, Christina fits the Emo-Rocker crow perfectly. Eventually, her inability to cope with the death of her mother and the disintegration of her family will lead her to drugs and prostitution. A very emotionally charged role.
PAPO (20-25, Hispanic or African American) street hustler. He’s a drug dealer and he emulates the “gangster” life style. However, below the tough exterior Papo is an insecure kid who has trouble coping with his homosexuality, thus turning to drugs to dull his despair and confusion.
MCMANNUS (40-50 Caucasian) mafia boss. He’s cold, cruel and manipulative. He leads life as a game and treats the people around him as adversaries to beat or pieces he can guide around to get what he want. There’s nothing good left in this man. And he knows it.
DONALD (50-65 Caucasian) mafia boss. Smooth and cautious, Donald has been part of the mafia for a long time and he knows how to get what he wants without putting himself at risk. His motto is “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” However, don’t let the serene exterior fool you: Donald can be ruthless and heartless when needed.
SHARON DUKES (40-50 African American) social worker working on Michael’s case. She’s been in the business for a long time and seen a lot. She’s a practical woman who wants what is best for the kids, even if that means their family must be dismantled to accomplish such.
NATASHA (20-25 Caucasian) social worker that is assigned to work on Michael’s case and ends up falling in love with him. Sweet and incredibly caring, she contrasts the seedy and perverse world of drugs and death that Michael descends into through the series, representing his one beacon of light and his best chance of redemption.
LUKE and OSCAR (25-35 Caucasian) drug addicts with debts they cannot pay.
FLEMING (30-40 Caucasian) Pudgy low-life.
ADACCI (30-35 Caucasian) perverted hitman. No scrupulous, dark heart.
HENCHMEN #1 and #2 (30-35) Big muscular types.
