Casting Call Details:
Perfect Entropy Productions invites all New York City-based actors and actresses to submit resumés and headshots for the opportunity to participate in a table reading of “All Tomorrow’s Children,” the debut feature film by writer/ director Jon-Carlos Evans (“Antithesis, “Julya”).
Participating actors will not only be cast in one major or supporting role for a reading of the full screenplay, but also will have priority consideration in final casting process.
If selected, each actor will receive a confirmation e-mail no later than March 10th, 2012 with full details. The reading for the film will take place in midtown Manhattan on March 17, 2012 from from 12PM – 4PM. Please do not submit if you are not available during that time frame.
“All Tomorrow’s Children”is a neo-realist coming of stage story meets surrealist thriller of three high school misfits yearning to escape a Midwestern city of absentee parents, failed institutions and peer bullying. Equally ostracized and alone, the three friends find solace in their friendship, music, recreational drugs and night-time cruising. When the trio is accused of an act of vandalism and signs of the collapsing reality manifest more rapidly as time moves toward the supposed December 31, 1999 “End of the World,” they don cartoon masks and formal wear to revenge themselves against the parents, peers and structures before the end of time.
Mona: Character age 17- All types, all ethnicities
Description: Mona is a silent sufferer. She lives with her fundamentalist Christian parents who are trying to force her into being baptized. She aspires to be a writer, and wants to fall in love before the world ends.
David: Character age 16-17 – All types, all ethnicities (w/ preference to Hispanic or Latin American)
Description: David is a rebel without direction. Abandoned by his single father, who spends his time either at work or participating in sex parties, David brims with reckless anger. He stopped going to school long ago, and instead spends his days skateboarding or hanging out at his college friend’s apartment.
Kevin: Character age 14-15 – All types, all ethnicities
Description: Kevin is a natural introvert after years of living with a single mother who travels constantly on business. He obsesses over details, especially normals and formulas, and is stricken speechless around girls.
Mr. Charles: Character age late 20′s to mid 30′ – All types, all ethnicities.
Description: Mr. Charles is the high school physics teacher stuck in a stage of arrested development. He hasn’t been out of graduate school for more than a year and wants to relate to his teenage students, but forgets that he is twice their age. He treats them like adults, challenges them with unorthodox topics and introduces them to Quantum Physics.
Kevin’s Mother: Character age 40′s – All types, all ethnicities
Description: Kevin’s Mother takes her life, her life and her business very seriously. She travels for work constantly, maintaining a strained relationship with her son through phone conversations, empty gifts and criticism.
Mona’s Stepmother: Character age late 30′s to late 40′s – All types, all ethnicities
Description: Mona’s Stepmother is a born-again Christian who overcompensates for her own insecurities and anxieties by controlling every situation. She sees the world as black and white, good and evil, and deems anything that challenges her beliefs as “un-godly.” She has constant battles with Mona, but never admits that the young girl is more intelligent than her.
