Project: “Thomas Edison Turn Off The Dark”
Casting Calls Category: Non-Union Theater
Location: New York, NY
Casting Call Details:
Rescue Agreement is currently casting its next devised piece, Thomas Edison Turn Off The Dark.
The piece will be an exploration of the relationships between Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and George Westinghouse as they fought and collaborated toward a brighter future, inventing the electric light and discovering its capacity for distribution. We want to explore these behemoths of industry and invention – the humanity at their foundations – to rediscover the extreme magicality and childlike wonder at the heart of electricity. In true Rescue Agreement fashion, this play will be developed collaboratively with the ensemble under the co-direction of Gemma Kaneko and Grant McDonald.
Rescue Agreement is made up of artists seeking to fuse our love of new technology, illusion and immersive performance with narrative structure reflecting issues in current events. We create by collaboratively writing and staging during and outside of rehearsals under the editing eye of our Co-Artistic Directors, Gemma Kaneko and Grant McDonald. More information on the company can be found at www.RescueAgreement.com
