Casting for “Old Timer”, an NYU Grad Film, HD, 10 min, color.
Shooting: 1/12-1/19. Queens, NY – College Point/Bayside.
SYNOPSIS:
A curious drama about a laid off Queens man who turns to a loan shark when financial trouble strikes.
Looking for experienced actors who can play subtle dark comedy with stark realism.
FEATURED:
HARRY BRAGA (Latin American): 50-60, brunette (gray hair ok), weathered and burly construction type.
Harry is a proud old school Latin man who has worked hard in construction all is life. But over the last eight years he’s seen his life savings drained away by flare ups in his
wife’s medical condition and is now desperate to fulfill his duty of providing for his wife.
JESS BRAGA (Chinese American): 40-50, brunette (gray hair ok); No Chinese spoken so open to all Asian ethnicities.
Jess is a faithful, loving, and proud homemaker of twenty-five years, but as Harry learns, she’s also a capable force to reckon with in tough times. For the last eight years she has
been hospitalized numerous times resulting from severe flare ups of Lupus Nephritis.
ALEX RADEV (Russian American): 30-35, Caucasian, brunette, average height, lean and athletic.
Alex is a second generation professional loan shark who prides himself in preserving the family’s name and reputation. Though tough as nails in a world of crooks, hustlers, and
drunks looking for loans, Alex is especially appreciative of honesty when he runs across it.
