Script is in English with Asian accents, but fluency in Mandarin-Taiwanese is a big plus.

Seeking:
XIU. Early-to-late 30s. Asian/Asian- American. Comes from a middle class family outside of Taipei. Devoted wife and mother, melancholic, bitterly resigned to her family moving to America and participating in a religious cult.

OLLIE. 8. Asian/Asian- American. A gentle young man who loves to learn, enjoys sports and school, and is excited by the family’s move to America because it’s where Disneyland, Michael Jordan, cowboys and McDonalds comes from.

RICHARD LIU. Mid-30s-mid- 40s. Asian/Asian- American. The mouthpiece for the Church to the Western world, speaks serviceable English, dedicated to the cause.

TEACHER CHEN. 60s. Asian. The head of a religious cult, believes he is the reincarnation of Christ and the father of Buddha in previous lives. Few lines but generous screen-time.

MARIA RUIZ. Early 40s. Hispanic. Grew up on the Texas border, so less Bronx Latina than Mexican-Central American. Attractive people-person, works for “Accent Elimination International” .

BIJOU. Mid-30s-40s. African-American. Plus-sized Wal-Mart saleslady, attractive and unembarrassed by her size. Has lingerie scene but no nudity.

MAGGIE FENG. Late 40s-early 50s. Asian/American. Assimilated into American culture. Brass and loud yet concerned for her cousin Xiu’s participation in the cult.

RAJA CHATTERJEE. 60s. Indian/Indian- American. Older, fit owner of a mid-level hotel. Has a sense of humor about life, but gets agitated under stress.

SONYA CHATTERJEE. 60s. Indian/Indian- American. Older, fit wife of mid-level hotel owner. No-nonsense and practical.

GRANNY. 70s. Asian/Asian- American.

HOTEI WONG. Late 20s/early-to- mid 30s. Asian/Asian- American. Easy-going, gets along with people, committed to Teacher Chen’s beliefs.

VICKI WONG. Late 20s/early-to- mid 30s. Asian/Asian- American. Committed to Teacher Chen’s beliefs, slightly calculating to get what she wants.
