Seeking actors for “Faint by Numbers”, a Non Union Short Film
Echopainter Films/Lakeside Concepts is casting for Faint by Numbers, a Super 16mm, 25-minute undergraduate thesis about Dustin Windsor, a stuck-in-a-rut, lonely, undriven college graduate who decides to pursue a bond with the person he’s convinced is his guardian after being saved from a near death experience by a stranger named Rank on the streets of NYC. Over one long weekend, Rank and his room-mate Jessie open Dustin up to the world he’s never let himself see, as Rank hides bigger problems than anyone saw coming.
Principal photography will run from January 2009 to March 2009, with post production to follow in April and May. There will be approx. 10 days of shooting, and all Dustin candidates should be able to make most all weekends and certain weekdays within January and February. Shooting will be in New York City and parts of Long Island, NY.
Auditions will be held by appointment on Monday, December 8th in New York City, from 1PM-7PM. There will be no other audition date, so please be able to make this one. Much of the movie is cast, but we’re still looking for some parts, including the perfect lead. There is no pay for the film, but copy, credit, and meals will be provided. This is a non-union production.
Everyone attached to the film has high hopes, and it is planned to be submitted to many major film festivals. Thank you for your time.

Dustin Windsor (Lead Character): Living a vapid life as a college graduate with no personal relationships, Dustin spends most of his time in his cavernous apartment in New York City. Stuck in a life as a financial intern with no motive, his life takes a turn when his life is saved by Rank, a random stranger on the streets.
Female / Any yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Security Woman (Supporting) : A feisty and energetic security officer working at Dustin’s office. Likes to give Dustin a hard time simply by ignoring him.
Male / 31-40 yrs. / Caucasian.
Therapist (Supporting) : Dustin’s therapist, who he visits less for mental problems and more for company. The therapist helps bring about that the incident with Rank was not a dream, but a real occurrence. Close to age with Dustin, as Dustin sees him as someone to talk to rather than someone giving out professional help.
Male / 25-30 yrs. / Caucasian.
Rick (Supporting) : An overachiever and vein in every way, Rick is the floor manager and all around prick at Dustin’s financial company. Rick is passive of everything that can’t get him to the next level.
Female / Any yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Nurse: The nurse caring for Dustin’s father at the hospital. A cold witch.
