An adaptation of William Shakespeare’ s Romeo and Juliet by Michael Kimmel
with music and musical compositions by Jeff Buckley with the permission of
The Estate of Jeff Buckley. Directed by Michael Kimmel. Musical direction
by Kris Kukul.
LOOKING FOR STRONG ROCK SINGERS, HIGH BELT, WIDE RANGE, AND AUTHENTICITY.
Familiarity with the Buckley canon is a plus, as is experience in an indie
rock band.
LEAD ACTRESS – Juliet
Early 20s, passionate and rebellious with emo sex appeal. She is girlish—on
the cusp of womanhood.
SUPPORTING ACTRESS #1 – Nurse
Late 30s to early 40s, embittered, former roadie type. Rode hard put to bed
wet, now leads a quieter life.
SUPPORTING ACTOR #1 – Friar
Late 30s to early 40s, kooky, Doc Brown-esque, tweaker, leveled-out former
junkie.
SUPPORTING ACTOR #2 – Tybalt
Mid 20s, aggressive, hot-headed. Epitomizes leader of a metal band.
SUPPORTING ACTOR #3 – Paris
Early to mid 20s, attractive but unappealing as a lover, skeevy. Inflated
sense of his own hotness. Must have strong falsetto range.

world values. Rules the roost.
