PITCH: AEA and Non-AEA auditions (NYC)
La MaMa ETC in association with Richard Schechner’s East Coast Artists is casting for PITCH, a new performance piece created by Kolekt::f. Benjamin Mosse, Dir. Rehearsals begin August 15, performances September 17-October 4, 2009, at La MaMa. All performers will receive a $250 project stipend, which includes travel reimbursement.
At a dinner party at C’s place in a time after stories have died, A, B, C, D, E and F rediscover a kaleidoscope of capricious and manic tales. A eulogy for a time before communication’s alienating and reductive twittering, PITCH exhorts the very fundamental and human urgency to relate, share, and mimic, breathlessly imploring us, “Don’t you ever stop! We must never; there is so much to tell, so little time to tell it, and never can it all be told anyhow.”
Seeking actors of all ethnicities: 3 men (C, D, E) and 3 women (A, B, F), 20-40s. This ensemble piece will have strong movement component and meticulous attention to language. The nuances of specific characterizations will be developed during rehearsal.
Auditions will occur on Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11 between 6-10pm by appointment. Callbacks will be Wednesday, August 12.
