NETworks will hold an open call for immediate replacements for the 2007-2008 leg of the National Tour of The Producers. Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan. Music/Lyrics by Mel Brooks. Original Direction/Choreogra phy by Susan Stroman; recreated by Nigel West (Director) and Leigh Constantine (Choreographer) . Casting by Dave Clemmons Casting. The tour is currently out and runs through Spring of 2008.
Seeking immediate Non-Union replacements for the following:
MAX BIALYSTOCK: 30’s to 50’s A formerly successful Broadway producer who now fleeces wealthy elderly women to support his failing business. Loud, pushy, fast talking, and always one step ahead of getting caught in the act. New York born and bred, Jewish, shrewd, intelligent and a dirty old man. Must be able to sing well (baritone/tenor up to a G) and must be a world-class comic actor.

Candidates please prepare 16-bars of an appropriate musical theatre song in the style of the show, and bring your book. Please also be prepared to tell a joke, if you are asked. Bring movement clothes in case you are asked to dance. Candidates must be available for one week of rehearsal in NYC (week of Dec. 17th) and would join the tour on or about January 6th.
Everyone should bring a current picture and resume and should have a valid passport (or be able to secure one by the first of January) as the tour does travel to Canada.
