Open call for actors for “A Day In the Life”
HAVERSTRAW, NEW YORK (IN ROCKLAND COUNTY)
This is an open call for actors for a non-equity production of the one act Christmas play A Day in the Life by Ray Ring.
This play is part of a holiday festival of 1 acts called Tales 4 Christmas. The play is being produced by Samuel Harps in the Shades Repertory Theatre in Haverstraw, New York.
Performance dates are 12/4, 12/5, 12/11, 12/12 at 8 PM.
PREMISE
When six holiday lawn ornaments are placed outside a townhouse in Queens on the day before Thanksgiving they become alive and interact with each other as they observe the human condition until a crisis comes forth and requires a sacrifice from several of the Nativity scene members.
This story is one of redemption… with many funny lines interwoven.
CASTING NEEDS
MARY – a woman between 21-40 years of age.
ST. JOSEPH – a man, between 21-50 years of age.
BABY JESUS – man or woman, between 21-40, ability to do a Hispanic accent.
This play is part of 4 one-act performances in a festival of 1 acts called Tales 4 Christmas.
Rehearsals start on or about November 6th.
