Open auditions for “The Toxic Avenger”

The Toxic Avenger — Equity Principal Auditions
George Street Playhouse New Brunswick, NJ LORT C $696/week minimum.
1st rehearsal: September 2, 2008. Runs September 30 – November 2.

Seeking:
Sarah: 20s. A beacon of shining inner truth and outer beauty. Should have a gorgeous soprano voice, with rock and roll too. Blind since birth, she sees only the good in everyone and everything around her. Her day job is as the Tromaville librarian, but she harbors greater ideas of glory of becoming a great writer, like…Jackie Collins. Although seemingly pure and naïve, she is no stranger to sex. Falls madly in love with the Toxic Avenger, fantasizing that he is her Big French Boyfriend.

White Dude: Multiple role. 20s – 30s. Performer must have a great rock and roll voice and be capable of playing many crazy comic parts such as Bozo, Thug, News Reporter, Folk Singer, Edna Ferbert, Judy, Sal The Cop and many others. Quirky, funny, offbeat, outrageous and also sharp and quick, this part (along with his sidekick, Black Dude) will represent an ensemble of 20 in two dudes. Performer needs to be a good mover, and a good fighter too (stage combat involved).

Black Dude: 20s - 30s. Performer must also have a great rock and roll voice and be capable of playing a myriad of crazy comic parts such as Sluggo, Professor Ken, Shinequa, Little Old Lady, Fred The Local Guy, Large Chief of Police, Unconcerned Citizen and many others. Along with White Dude, he is the other half of a would-be ensemble of 20. Performer needs to be a good mover, and a good fighter too (stage combat involved).

Note: George Street Playhouse does not employ understudies.
