Open auditions for “Much Ado About Nothing” – NY

Open auditions for “Much Ado About Nothing”

Witty banter, sexual tension, new-found love, evil mastermind brothers, masquerade parties, false accusations, and fist fights – and that’s just the first half.
Much Ado About Nothing is known for some of Shakespeare’s most tantalizing dialogue as Beatrice and Benedick, former lovers, encounter each other post-break-up and try to suppress their desire to fall back into each other’s arms. The text dances with wit and tension in this comedy, but at the heart of this piece is an examination of love that when stripped of its garnish and frills becomes more valuable. Surrounding the stories of two sets of lovers are vivid characters that bring scenes to the depths of tragedy and the heights of comedy. From the wicked Don John to the megalomaniac clown Dogberry the characters take turns stealing scenes in this tale of love gone wrong until it goes right.
