from America Amerique: Stories of American Immigrants (1840 to the
Present) Director: Alex Levy (AD Pegasus Chicago); Producer: The JENA
Company (recent nationals My Soul Is A Witness and Jackie, Vi & Lena).
Non-Union Paid Engagement - Professional Fee Provided
Open Roles:
Man One (Mid 20s – Mid 30s) – strong, rough-edged, Ellis Island
Examiner, and Laid-Off Factory Worker;
Man Two (Late 20’s – 40s) – the Narrator — sharply observant, somewhat cynical;
Man Three (Older –or must read as Older Character Type, 40s – 50s)
–Upper Crust New Yorker, Old World Russian Jew (1900), Italian Father
(1940);
Man Four (18 - 25) – warm, strong, a little vulnerable – Young
Irishman 1840s, and Teenage Russian Immigrant at Ellis Island;
Man Five (Mid 20s – Mid 30s) – Latino Male to play Mexican Immigrant,
down to earth working man, regular guy, also plays Ellis Island
Interpreter.
Woman One (Mid 20s – Mid 40s), simple, honest, direct, Irish Immigrant
1840s, also Russian Woman at Ellis Island;
Woman Two (Mid 20s) – Latino Female to play Mexican or Central
American Immigrant, normal person, unassuming.
