Character Description Morgan: Loves life, difficult women, and vintage motorcycles. Morgan found himself in Europe after an alcoholic binge 12 years ago, decided to clean up and took a job as a sales rep for an Italian company selling coffee grinders to cafes across the States. He has Alfie like charm, dreams of beaujolais and cries when watching Armageddon.
Synopsis: “Your Best Violence” is a short film in the form of a novella*, delivering a
female perspective on the horror of routine and the thin line between
sanity and madness. It depicts the mundane, anesthetized and defensive
lives of Lilly (mid 20’s) and Aaron (late 20’s), a young married couple.
Morgan (mid 30ʼs), an old friend comes to visit for the weekend. During a
brief conversation, Morgan questions Lillyʼs commitment to her marriage,
setting her into an emotional tailspin.
The film uses minimal dialogue, long takes, poised framing and
observational camera angles to illustrate Lillyʼs internal monologue,
charting her every move as she contemplates stepping outside of the
convention that has become her marriage and life.
