New York, NY Casting Calls: Casting Child Actor for “Shadowlands”
Casting Call Details:
Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc., a Manhattan-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit theater company now in its 17th year, is finalizing casting for William Nicholson’s Tony Award-winning drama “Shadowlands,” Lance Hewett, artistic director. Rehearsals begin mid-Aug., primarily Saturday afternoons/evenings and a few selected weekday evenings; runs for 11 performances Oct. 2-20 (alternating with the musical farce That Lady from Maxim’s) at the newly renovated Robert Moss Theatre in NYC.
Seeking—Douglas: 6-9, a sensitive, inquisitive, imaginative child, but painfully private and lonely, escapes into the fantasy world of the “Narnia” books by C.S. Lewis, who becomes his stepfather after Douglas’s young mother divorces her American husband and marries Lewis. The two form a close bond when the boy loses his mother to cancer.
Note: Douglas is a major role.
