WHO AM I?
We will soon be casting for an independently produced 2hr television pilot, with principle photography currently expected to take place in mid-December in the Cherry Hill, NJ area, a suburb of Philadelphia.

This is an ultra-low budget production and we are seeking only non-union actors at this point.

We’ve chosen the Cherry Hill area to shoot because this is where the show is set. There will also be bits in the Akron, OH area, but we’re not casting those roles yet.

Credit, copy and meals except for name actors. We would like to see at least a couple of name actors in the stronger roles, and can discuss minimal pay at that point. Enough to cover expenses. That’s about all we can do, as the producers’ life savings are being risked to do this.

There are over thirty speaking roles in the pilot, ranging from lead roles all the way down to under 5’s, so there are plenty of roles to go around. More than ten of these will be recurring characters in the series if the show is picked up.

We’ll be casting the following specific roles, listed in order of number of lines in the pilot. Some of the characters with more lines in the pilot are not as important in the series, and some who don’t have too many lines in the pilot recur more heavily in the series.

PLEASE NOTE! If you are interested in any of the teen male roles, please note whether you have skating/hockey experience!

ADAM KENSOI - Lead / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 5′ 9″ - 6′ 1″
This is a TOUGH role! The lead character with over 200 lines. Not for the light hearted. Adam is a medium to slightly tallish 16 year old in great shape. On the local hockey travel team. A good natured, mostly normal teenage boy with one small exception. Adam is half alien. He doesn’t know it, so he’s confused by some strange abilities that he’s developing. The whole concept of first season is about Adam discovering himself, finding out who he is and why he can do these things like seeming to read minds, have visions, and even slight telekinesis. He has moments where he sleepwalks/talks, reverting to his 4 year old self in his sleep. For physical appearance, think Jeremy Sumpter. To see what Jeremy currently looks like, see his IMDb profile.

JENNIFER WEEKES - Lead / FEMALE / 16 TO 24 / 5′ 5″ - 5′ 9″
Jennifer is a girl who has been in love with Adam for years, but he just thinks of them as best friends. In the pilot however, Adam comes to his senses and realizes how lucky he is to have her, and they become boyfriend and girlfriend. Jen is very attractive, but not fashion model attractive. Maybe a bit of a tomboy. In ways she’s like Adam’s mother. She is slightly older than Adam, but in the same grade (Junior in H.S.)

SANDRA LECLAIR - Lead / FEMALE / 35 TO 45
Sandra is Adam’s mom. Roughly late 30’s to 40. somewhat attractive and takes care of herself. Sandra is a friendly, “cool” mom, but doesn’t take any crap. She’s been single ever since her husband died over ten years ago, concentrating on her work and Adam. She has no love interest in the pilot, but one comes along very early in the first season and creates a lot of tension between Sandra, Adam, and Jennifer. She is originally from Sept Isles, Quebec, Canada, which is where Adam was born and lived until he was around 5.

STEVEN RIVERS - Lead / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 5′ 3″ - 5′ 9″
Steven is Adam’s best friend and the one who introduced him to hockey. Steven is short and while physically capable, not entirely sure of himself. His dad is a jerk, bully type who is always making Steven feel as if he’s not good enough. It doesn’t help that his younger brother seems to be better at hockey. Once Steven starts playing with his dad not around, he improves dramatically and becomes his team’s captain.

KYLE WEBBER - Lead / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 6′ 0″ - 6′ 5″
Kyle is a real prick and the antagonist of the story. In later episodes both we and Adam begin to understand why Kyle is the way he is and be begins to lighten up, but he’ll still be pretty intense. Kyle’s father disappeared many years ago and he and his mother have lived with her brother, Kyle’s uncle ever since. Kyle’s uncle is a worthless drunk abuser who keeps his sister feeling small and helpless and has picked on Kyle all his life. Kyle tends to be fairly bigoted at times, even though the closest thing he has to a friend happens to be a black guy and teammate. The truth is, he’s abrasive and speaks rudely to everyone, pushing their buttons by saying what he thinks will offend or hurt them the most. He’s a typical bully type, very insecure and tries to make everyone else afraid of him so he doesn’t have to feel afraid.

COACH JIM CLARKE - Recurring / MALE / 30 TO 55
Typical teen sports team coach. Not a major player in the series, but over 30 lines in the pilot. Recurring role in series.

MATT COLLINS - Recurring / MALE / 14 TO 20
Matt is a Sophomore and younger than most of the rest of the team. Kind of antagonist of sorts in the pilot. He likes Jennifer and his main purpose in the pilot is to get Adam to recognize what he could lose if Jen goes with someone else. He’s not a major player in the series, but does recur in some episodes.

ERIC NELSON - Supporting / MALE / 16 TO 24 / African American
Eric is the closest thing Kyle has to a best friend. He’s the only black guy on the hockey team. Even though Kyle can be pretty obnoxious, Eric doesn’t seem to let it bother him at all. He’s a funny, agreeable kind of person, but not a “comedian” per se. Just a cool, level headed kid. Sometimes he’s good at diffusing situations. Supporting character in all episodes.

BURT RIVERS - Recurring / MALE / 35 TO 49
Steven’s jerk dad. Burt was a hockey player when he was younger, but never made the majors, so he tries to live out his hockey fantasies vicariously through his sons. Steven is his oldest boy, and Burt rides him hard, especially since Steven’s younger brother is better than he is. Burt is completely oblivious to the fact that part of Steven’s hockey performance issues is because Burt makes him both nervous and embarrassed by his “bleacher-seat coaching” behavior when Steven is playing or practicing. Deep down he really does want what’s best for his sons, but he’s poor at showing it.

NICKY ANGELINO - Supporting / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 5′ 7″ - 6′ 1″
The right wing on Adam and Steven’s hockey line. He is an Italian Catholic who has a Polish girlfriend, Vanessa. They are part of the gang and series regulars.

VANESSA MOLANDA - Supporting / FEMALE / 16 TO 24
The Polish girlfired of Nicky’s. She becomes good friends with Jennifer and is one of the supporting female parts.

KENNY SULLIVAN - Supporting / MALE / 16 TO 24
A true hayseed hick. Kenny is a corn munchin’ straw hangin’ from his mouth hick boy. A good ol’ boy with a good, friendly disposition. Is the goalie on Adam’s hockey team.

THOMAS LAVERNE - Recurring / MALE / 35 TO 50
Thomas is a very old friend (flame?) of Sandra’s. He was also Adam’s pediatrician when he lived in Sept Isles.

DARREN “D.C.” CALDER - Supporting / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 6′ 0″ - 6′ 4″
D.C. is a big defensive player on Adam’s hockey team. Physically big and scary with a teddy bear personality.

TREVOR DUNCAN - Supporting / MALE / 16 TO 24 / 5′ 7″ - 6′ 1″
Trevor is one of the main defensemen on the hockey team and usually tries to keep the peace in the locker room. In general a nice kid.

GREG KENSOI - Recurring / MALE / 35 TO 50
Greg is Adam’s father. He’s actually from another planet, but neither his mother or son know it. Greg died back when Adam was 5 years old and we see him in flashbacks. He appears totally human. He’s a regular, good looking guy. Patient and good natured, but strong willed. Not a big role in the first season, but recurring.

MR. STAPLEFORD - Recurring / MALE / 30 TO 45
Adam’s math teacher who is a fun loving type that is the kind of teacher that you remember forever.

DOC - Recurring Guest Star / MALE / 40 TO 65
The Hockey team doctor

DR. BENOIT - One Day Guest Star / MALE / 35 TO 55
A French Canadian Doctor in hospital in Sept Iles Canada

4YR OLD/5YR OLD ADAM - Possible Recurring / MALE / 4 TO 6
Will be matched up with a chosen actor for Adam and will appear in flashbacks with Greg Kensoi and Sandra LeClair.

CARA JONES - Recurring / FEMALE / 15 TO 22
Will be seen in Pilot but becomes a bigger role in the series. She becomes the girl Steven Rivers wants to get. She is a cute strawberry blonde - redhead Sophomore in High School. Steven wants her and she wants Adam.

Other roles to be cast include:
Opposing Team Player, Player, Nurse, Paramedic, Mother, Norwegian Mother, Norwegian Father, Norwegian Boy, Mrs. Monroe, Attendant.

These additional roles may be cast in the Akron/Cleveland area of Northeast Ohio at a later time: Scientist, Female Hiker and Male Hiker.

We will consider those with any level of experience, but please have a professional headshot taken. In color if you have a choice.
