Casting ten minute short
Planning an April shoot of a 10-minute short/trailer for a basketball dramedy, which will be used to sell to indie producers and private investors.
Date: Fri, Sat or Sun early a.m. thru afternoon, in April, 8-10 hrs., weather permitting
Location: NYC (one indoor, one outdoor scene)
Paid positions: Four to five cast members, (see below); line producer/director’s assistant; second camera/DP; Audio (must bring equipment); makeup artist. Salaries range from $100-$300. Free food. Possibly some free gear, bonuses.
Unpaid positions: production assistants and extras (pickup ballplayers, drinkers at bar). Free food, possibly some free gear.
Qualifications: Hard-working, friendly, respectful, sharp, energetic, flexible. Pre-production availability a must. Hoops experience a bonus. Note: No promises, but this could lead to exciting feature film possibilities for those involved.

SHOOTER: 35-42 yrs, former college ballplayer/near pro, white, sexy, smart, confident; a guy’s guy, appears scruffy and hungover most of the time.
BIG MAN: 30-42 year old proud brother who does blue-collar work as a big man; animated, smart, solid on and off the court.
BUFF BAR DUDE: A bit of a musclehead, impressed with himself, thinks he can shoot, but can’t. Losing drives him insane.
SASSY WAITRESS: Hard working, tired, sexy and tough.
EXTRAS: pickup players≈some who can play ball, others think they can; plus drinkers at the bar, bar tender.
