Casting Student Film
Seeking union or non union actors to play 3 roles in School of Visual Arts
student short film entitled ‘Group Therapy’. Comedy involving an incredibly
dysfunctional therapist - patient relationship, in which the patient comes in
to talk to her therapist about her cheating husband, not knowing that her
therapist is the one he is cheating with. Film mainly relies on its dialogue and
requires strong comedic actors with good timing.
Auditions to be held at the School of Visual Arts, 209 East 23rd Street, 5th
floor, Room 501 on Tuesday March 6th, 2pm to 6pm and Wednesday March 7th, 11
am to 2 pm. Come prepared with a short comedic monologue and to read from the
script.
Specific production dates are TBA but will take place for about 3-4 days
sometime in mid march around the 16th.
Shooting will take place in the NYC area, possibly in Purchase New York. If
travel is necessary a travel stipend (train fare and or taxi service) will be

- STEVE FRASIER. Charming and attractive male to play 40-45 year old
smooth talking cheating husband. Can be younger but must be able to look at
least late thirties. Must be very skilled at Comedy.
- BECKY FRASIER. Female in her late 30’s but who looks a little
older. Greying hair, soccer mom. Not made up…should be able to look like she
‘let herself go’ over the past few years. Starts out meek but develops into a
very interesting, strong willed, character. Must be able to play two different
sides of character and be skilled at comedy. Also must have valid driver’s
license.
- WENDY FREEDMAN. Attractive female to play role of 25-30 year old
therapist. Can be in early 20’s but must have a mature, professional look.
Therapist is sexually charged, neurotic, anxiety prone, and also a drinker, but
tries to put up a convincing front of having it all together. Must be very
skilled at comedy.
