Casting Spanish speaking actress for short film “El Sacrificio” – New York City

Casting Call Details:
In October, I’m putting into production a short film – 10 minutes – about an 18 year old girl, Esperanza, as she witnesses her mother, Beliza’s arrest for being an illegal alien. All of this occurs during Esperanza’s goodbye party, where her friends are gathered to celebrate her right before she heads off to college. Esperanza must face the consequences of her mother’s pending deportation while she prepares to leave. The conflict is well-rooted in Esperanza’s relationship with her mother and how the truth affects their relationship and Esperanza’s future.

BELIZA VALERIO. FEMALE. 30-45. She is a caring, loving, but stern mother who values the efforts of hard work. Her character is central to the film, for she is the one who is accused of being an illegal alien and of being involved in a counterfeit and drug smuggling ring. Beliza is one who is good hearted and you can see that in her dedication to her family. MUST SPEAK SPANISH.
