STORYLINE: “Mixed Drinks” is a New York Film Academy student project set in a classy New York City bar and studio high-rise. In a silent three-minute drama (sans dialogue), the film chronicles the story of Pat, a young male dressed as a female’s journey seducing the seemingly impossible object of his/her affection, Vince. Vince initially expresses no interest in Pat and fails in his attempt to use rohypnol to bring home a younger girl. In an ironic twist of fate, Pat gives Vince a taste of his own medicine and achieves his/her goal. The film explores different facets of dating acceptability and taps into the idiom “what goes around comes around.”
We are casting the following character actors:
[SHAUNA]: Male cross-dressed as a female. 20-30. Slim. Feminine features. To play a confident yet lonely young adult who is comfortable in his own skin. Wants to achieve his goal of tactfully seducing the businessman. Must have a strong emotional presence and be willing to wear extravagant female clothing and makeup. Needed for both days of shoot. LEAD.
[PATRICK]: Male. 20-30. Attractive. Clean-cut and shaved. Well dressed (i.e. suit, tie, sports jacket). To play a haughty single businessman who unsuccessfully attempts to seduce a younger woman and winds up being seduced by the lead. Must be comfortable with the story’s theme. Needed for both days of shoot. CO-STAR.
[20-SOMETHING]: Female. 20-30. Attractive. Thin. Well dressed (i.e. in a cocktail dress and heels). To play the co-star’s object of affection. Needed for one day of shoot. FEATURED EXTRA.
[BOYFRIEND]: Male. 20-30. Jock build. To play the girl’s boyfriend. He is self-possessed and comes off with a typical frat boy demeanor. Needed for one day of shoot. FEATURED EXTRA.
[BAR TENDER]: Male. 20-30. Will serve drinks to the lead and co-star. Needed for one day of shoot. FEATURED EXTRA.
