Casting diverse ensemble cast for the production The Who’s Tommy
The Theater Company, in residence at DeBaun Center for Performing Arts, is casting a diverse ensemble cast for their production The Who’s Tommy. Varied ethnicities are welcome.
Rehearsal/Performan ce Information
• Weekday evening and weekend afternoon rehearsals begin on December 6, 2008 and run through February 2009.
• Performances are February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 & 28 at 8 p.m. and February 15, 22 & March 1 at 3 p.m.

• Auditions are held in half hour slots. When requesting an audition appointment, please be prepared with the date and time you prefer. Walk-ins will be seen based on availability.
Character Breakdowns
MRS. WALKER—Tommy’s weary mum. (Pop Mezzo)
CAPTAIN WALKER—Tommy’s guilty father. (Tenor)
UNCLE ERNIE—A lecherous bachelor. (Tenor)
TOMMY/NARRATOR— Embittered young genius. (Tenor)
COUSIN KEVIN—A young, loutish nuisance. (Baritone)
HAWKER—An unsavory street man. (Baritone)
GYPSY/ACID QUEEN—A desperate drug-addict prostitute (High Rock and Roll belt, up to G5)
THE SPECIALIST—A very modern doctor. (Baritone)
SALLY SIMPSON—A teenybopper. (Soprano)
ENSEMBLE—play various roles throughout the production, including but not limited to: Mrs. Walker’s Lover, Kevin’s Mother, Kevin’s Father, Mr. Simpson, Mrs. Simpson, Judge, Minister, Harmonica Player
Auditions: Monday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 18 from 6–9 p.m.
Callbacks: Wednesday, November 19 from 7–10 p.m. Callbacks will consist of a dance routine and selections from the score. If invited to callbacks, wear comfortable clothes/shoes for choreography auditions—piece will be taught.

Notes/What to bring: Prepare 32 bars of a contemporary/ rock selection exhibiting vocal range. Songs from the score are acceptable.
An accompanist will be provided, please bring sheet music in the correct key. Acapella and CD tracks are not acceptable and will not be heard.
No children under the age of 16 may audition.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
