Casting call for the short film “Salt Water” (NYC)
Director: Jessica Rionero. In the style of a bildungsroman story, Salt Water follows Alexis Ross, a young woman who is as cynical as she is beautiful. A recent university graduate, she returns to her childhood home in Long Island for a summer while biding her time waiting for word on an internship at a Manhattan publishing house.
Alexis is restless, bored, sexually frustrated and conflicted, and her small uneventful town only exacerbates these feelings.
Alexis spends several days driving around trying to reconnect with old friends, who would rather forget the past than attempt to confront it. It is at this point that she meets Matt. 18 and still optimistic, he falls deeply in love with Alexis.
Throughout their summer together, Matt and Alexis profoundly affect one another, each learning in turn the difficulty that lies within the fight between what you want to be and who you are.
