Eyesight for the Blind – Non Union
A self serving private detective is forced to feel for another when a blind
client of his asks him to describe the pictures he has taken of her
adulterous husband. Character driven piece, Ten minute STUDENT FILM for a sophomore
directing major at the School of Visual Arts.
Roles:
Eddie Turner- Private Detective, thirties, very distant from his clients,
self serving, world weary, he becomes sympathetic through the course of the
piece when he is forced to describe pictures he took of an adulterous husband in
the act to this man’s wife (who hired him to take the pictures in the first
place)
Mrs. Robards: age is anywhere from late 20’s to late 40’s, very strong woman
who has been blind since birth, suspected her husband of cheating and hired
private investigator to determine the truth, she is determined to understand
everything her husband does to his mistress and forces Eddie to describe her
husband’s actions to him
Marlene: age is anywhere from 18 to 30, she is Eddie Turner’s secretary,
very sarcastic strong willed woman whose personality has to counter Eddie’s
harsh exterior
