Casting call for short student film “Evacuation” (New York, NY)
This is a New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, undergraduate student film production. The director and casting director is Bryce Schramm, the producer is Molly Nussbaum, the director of photography is Emily Terkell, and the assistant director is Nina Stiefel. The date of the shoot is March 13-14, 2010, most likely during the hours of the day. The tentative location is in Jericho, Long Island. The film will be aprox. 6 minutes long and will be shot on 16 mm color film.
Seeking:
SARAH (16-18): Sarah wakes up one morning in an empty house. She is carefree and enjoying her time off from school. Unfortunately, her time off is due to a large scale fire that is rapidly approaching her house. As her laziness progresses, and Sarah carries out her day by getting stoned, making food, and talking to her friends online, the fire gets closer. Her mother finally calls to tell her she must evacuate the house. She quickly becomes more frightened and vulnerable. We learn that this vulnerability may be caused by the recent death of her father.
STEVE (40-45): Steve was a dedicated father and husband before he died prematurely in his early 40s. He loved Sarah and was the “cool dad” without trying to be so. When Sarah is frantically packing belongings and is at her most frightened, Steve visits her in his posthumous state to comfort her. Though it aches him that he can’t be with her, he is happy to see her.

You must have a confirmed audition in order to enter the building. After you have been cast, rehearsals will be held during the weeks preceding the shoot. Sides will be available at the audition.
